Scholarship Applications Available

Now is the time to apply for our annual Scholarship. All members and their children are welcome to apply. The requirements are as follows:

  1. Applicant must be a referee in good standing or the child of a referee in good standing.
  2. Applicant must submit a transcript of grades for the past year and the latest available marking period of 2015.
  3. Three (3) letters of recommendation from: (1) A past or present employer, (2) A school representative and (3) A personal friend or acquaintance or clergy person. (No LISRA Board Member may write a letter of recommendation.)
  4. A letter from the applicant expressing why he or she feels that they should be awarded a scholarship.
  5. Letters and transcripts must be received before April 30, 2015. All paperwork should be addressed to the LISRA office. (Make certain to write LISRA)
  6. The April 30 deadline will be strictly enforced.

The USSF Referee Course Grade 9 - Brentwood

 

The USSF Entry Level Referee Course Grade 9 (not a school grade) to become an Assistant Referee is open for registration. Registration will close when the class is at capacity or by Friday Oct 6th 11:59pm. You must be at least 14 years old to take this class. No experience necessary.

Location: Brentwood North Middle School 350 Wicks Rd Brentwood

You must attend All 4 sessionsfrom 7:00-9:30pm

  • Session 1: Tuesday, October 10

  • Session 2: Thursday, October 11

  • Session 3: Tuesday, October 17

  • Session 4: Tuesday, October 18

The fee for the course is $180 which includes a uniform, payable with a credit card. If you cancel after the closing date (Fri Oct 6th) you will be issued a refund less the cost of the uniform kit ($60). Payments not received by the course closing date may be removed from the course and assigned to others from a waiting list.

This class fills up quickly. Once full, the class will be closed, so register ASAP before the closing date to reserve a seat! No walk-ins will be accepted.

As part of the Entry Level Referee Course (Grade 9) Requirements, you will need to complete all 17 of the online Grade 9 Referee Course Modules prior to the class. You must enter the State Association NEW YORK - EAST and Clinic Number 22321 in order to get credit for the modules. Take a picture with your smartphone of the certificate that appears at the end of each module for your records and bring to the first day of the course.

Each module is about 4 to 6 minutes long. To complete all 17 modules (Laws) will require about 90 minutes. You can do a little at a time and return later. The link for the Modules is http://www.ussoccer.com/Referees/Resource-Center/Online-Training/Grade-9-Referee-Course.aspx.

There is a written exam at the end of the course. Passing score is 80% or better. If you do not pass, you have 1 year to retake future courses or just retake the exam at no charge.

If your child has any learning disabilities, PLEASE tell the instructors at the START of the class so they can make accommodations.

Under Courses, you should see Grade 9 New - 4 Session. Course 22321 Brentwood. When you register, choose District 6. If done correctly, you should get an email receipt for the class.
